German Contemporary artist Heribert C. Ottersbach, lends his help to celebrate
the jubilee year of the Stadtkrone Darmstadt. In the later part of the 19th Century
a group of like minded supported artists formed a community in Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt.
It is located in the southern part of the Rhine Main Metropolitan area in Hesse Federal State.
Among the artists that worked in studios here were
Peter Behrens, Paul Bürck, Rudolf Bosselt, Hans Christiansen,
Ludwig Habich, Patriz Huber and Joseph Maria Olbrich
In 1908 the wedding tower and exhibition building were completed based on a design
by Joseph Maria Olbrich. He was a key figure in the group and was trained as an architect.
Olbrich designed the Ernst Ludwig House which was used as a studio for several artists.

Formation to Abstraction refers to the automatic formation of humankind through
architecture, placing commitment to functionality over human values.
|
As Heribert C. Ottersbach once said, "If painting still wants to be taken
seriously within the overall social
discourse and not be dismissed as an office, insurance, or bank
building-compatible service, it must establish it's canon anew. Less is no
longer more."
