Joey and Toby Tanenbaum generously donated their collection of 19th Century European Art
to the Art Gallery of Hamilton. A selection of eighteen key pieces are currently
on display at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. Exhibited along with a selection from the
AGGV's permanent collection, it includes portraits, landscapes, still life pieces along with
historical and religious themed works.
The Tanenbaums spent decades amassing these pieces. It was considered to be among the most
important 19th Century European private art collections. Thanks to their largesse the public
has the chance to view these important masterpieces.
