Celebrating exploration. That is the theme of After Lewis and Clark an exhibition of 115 paintings, drawings and prints from the collection
of the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by artists who accompanied the famed explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark.
The artistry deepen the understanding of the American West and its history much as the exploration did.
The works were primarily created between 1806 and 1871. Artists include George Catlin, Thomas Moran, Albert Bierstadt,
Karl Bodmer and Alfred Jacob Miller.
