Celebrating her 75th Anniversary the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts brings
Impressionist artists Monet, Degas and Renoir to Alabama in a collection
from the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute.
“This exhibition features five of the most influential artists in the Impressionist movement,” said Mark Johnson,
director of the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. “We are excited to showcase these extraordinary paintings in
Montgomery during such a wonderful time in the history of the Museum.”

Pissarro, Monet and Morisot are all included in the small
exhibit of twelve works from Impressionist artists. Impressionism
captures a brief moment in time reflecting on a canvas what was over with the blink of an eye. Monet, every associated with
Giverny, is the one who gave the movement it's name. The opportunity to enjoy even one of his series is always enchanting such
as the included Spring at Giverny.

The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts lays claim to the title of the oldest fine arts museum in
the state of Alabama. The museum
is home to an excellent 19th and 20th Century collection of American paintings and sculpture.
