Curator's Corner

The May 2005 edition of IATWM included our first Curator's Corner, a column in which we invite a curator to discuss 1 work from the museum or art gallery's collection. Our premier column discussed a recent acquisition at the Chrysler Museum of Art of a Tiffany Yachting Trophy. The column has been very popular with our readers.

This edition features The Jackal who Pronounced himself King from the San Diego Museum of Art.  It is a piece from their impressive Asian Art collection.

The column provides the chance to focus on the significant pieces or hidden treasures that have a fascinating history that a visitor may overlook. Art is fun and educational and learning from those who have spent extensive time and energy studying in their unique fields is something that most art lovers enjoy, and here is one place where it can be done. IATWM plans to continue this popular column for our readers.
