Celebrating the 200th Anniversary of Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery, The Hockaday Museum of Art has an exhibition depicting this important moment in American history.

Traditionally early explorers would employ a staff artist to immortalize their travels on canvas. Lewis and Clark were exceptions to this practice. Frank Hagel, a Montana native, and devotee of historical paintings has created a body of work visualizing the Corps of Discovery.
