This is the last week to enjoy the New Zealand Festival of Arts in that
beautiful city. Make certain to view the Wellington Waterfront and enjoy the
Flags Display by Angus Watt.
Contemporary Chinese Art is featured at the Adam Art Gallery with a focus
on the significance of massive urbanization in China. The New Zealand
Academy of Fine Art has a retrospective of Iskandar Jalil, Singapore's
celebrated ceramic artist. View the new works by Dempsey Bob, Norman Jackson
and Stan Bevan in the Contemporary Tlingit Art from North American Exhibit
at Pataka. These are just a few of an incredible display of talented art and
artists from the home of Middle Earth.

events that examine the relationship between music and art.
Come a Singing! looks at the relationship between Canadian
Art and folk culture featuring artists Lawren Harris, Arthur Lismer, A
Y. Jackson and J. E. H. MacDonald. All were members of the world famous Group
of Seven.
See Hear! examines the image-sound interaction in the early
to mid 1960's. Included are Michael Snow, Yves Gaucher and John
Cage.
Re-play looks at the relationship between individuals and
their personal relations with popular music "how we create the
soundtrack of our lives". Eighteen artists are featured such as Stan
Douglas, Rodney Graham and Tim Lee.

Visitors have the opportunity to view two rare silk hand scrolls that are
having their first public exhibition. They were created by the imperial
painting studios and illustrate the 18th Century Qianlong Empire. Follow the
emperor's journey through the scrolls that show the emperor's entourage as
he travels through cities and countryside.
