In 2004 two European cities share the honor as the European Union's 2004 Capital of culture. This month we look at Lille France and the events that city has  planned as she celebrates her heritage and culture along with Genoa.

Volunteers and benefactors are prevalent in articles in which institutions are named for long time supporters whether a museum such as the Louise Wells Cameron Museum of Art in North Carolina, USA or the Ruth Prowse School of Art in Cape Town, South Africa.

Art is more than paintings and sculpture, the traditional mediums, but also wearable art such as Jewelry (October 2000)  and Textile Design. The European Textile Network has organized a juried exhibition looking at the future of Textile Design and it is currently on display at the Prato Textile Museum.

Montreal is the subject of a feature on the Museum of Fine Arts.

Worth a Look spans the USA - both California and Florida are featured for their current exhibitions.

Last month we explored the activities undertaken by Auckland and Toronto to address the problem of publication, promotion and support of contemporary artists.
