The Bezalel School of Art in Jerusalem would take old ammunition
parts, specifically brass shell cases and turn them into decorative
items.
An example is the Rare Bezalel Silver and
Copper Brass Shell Case Box, pictured at the top of this article.
It depicts different Jewish locations and scenarios including
Rachel's Tomb and the Tower of David. This lot, #4104, is available with
a starting price of $2,000.00.

In 2002 Igael Turmarkin's bronze sculpture of noted Russian born
writer and poet Haim Nachman Bialik was sold for $1,495. Bialik is
perhaps best known for his work "In the City of Slaughter"
discussing the Kishinev pogrom. The writer is sometimes referred to as
"Israel's national poet.", though he died in 1934 before the
creation of Israel. |
